Religious Education News: Term 1, Week 7

As we continue our Lenten journey this week, we join with our Year 3 and other students preparing for the sacrament of Reconciliation. Reconciliation is about coming back to God and having confidence in God’s forgiving love. Lent is a wonderful time to look seriously at our lives and discern what God wants from us, and where we have the opportunity to follow His calling.

We are reminded that God calls to us all in different ways and calls us to different paths. As parents, carers, and teachers; one of the things we are all called to is the support of the young people in our lives. To do this well, self-reflection and an honest examination of conscience can be very helpful. What do we do well? What could we do differently with God’s help? Lent is a wonderful time to make changes in our lives, to ask God for help and to shape ourselves more closely into the people He calls us to be, through prayer, fasting and almsgiving.

As we continue towards Easter, I would call on you to continue to pray for the Holy Father, who while working without pause, is still in hospital in Rome.
