Principals Report Week 3 Term 3
Dear Parents and Friends,
Next Tuesday is the Feast of St Dominic; patron saint of Rosary School. We will celebrate with a whole school Mass at 10am in Rosary Church. Parents are welcome to join us. Over the course of the day, there will be a special prayer and activities in classrooms focussed on the saint’s wonderful gifts to the world. Students are encouraged to wear the sports uniform which is black and white – the Dominican colours.
Welcome to the new families joining us this week – Attema, Bignell and Gillie. We hope they will enjoy a happy association with Rosary School over the time of their respective enrolments.
Wakakirri Awards
Congratulations to our Wakakirri team of parents, staff and students on securing Awards for Best Backstage Crew, Best Individual Hair and Make-up and Best Costume Design. These awards were certainly very-well deserved!
Hats on again!
August is ‘hats on again’ time in accordance with our Sun Smart School Policy. From the start of next week (Week 4), students will be expected to wear the uniform school hat. Should students be found outside without the school hat at break times, they will be directed to play in designated fully-shaded areas.
Floriade
Keep watching the garden beds outside the front of the school and the church as the bees’ wings are about to be included in the design!
Year 6 Camp
I cannot speak more highly of our Year 6 students in terms of their conduct on their recent school camp at Berry. The students were a delight to accompany and all the staff at the centre were so impressed with the students in terms of their capabilities, how cooperative and collaborative they were and how neatly and respectfully they treated the facilities – everything was left in perfect order. Even the cleaners sought me out to let me know that they had never seen the facilities in such a clean state following a groups’ stay! The students were so cohesive as a group and completely supportive of one another as they worked through the various activities and challenges. They have made the staff so proud and it was an enormous pleasure for me to share this special time with the children – especially given that it was my last camp! The students are a real credit to their families and wonderful ambassadors for our school.
Welcome
There has been a staffing change at OSHClub and I take this opportunity to welcome Ms Jaysmine Maan to the before and after school care service as the new Director. I’m sure you will join me in wishing Jaysmine all the very best during the time that she is associated with our school. Special thanks to Sandra, the previous Director, for her great work and care of the students.
