Principals Report Week 9 Term 1
Dear Parents and Carers,
Term One Progressing Well
We are well into Week 9 this term and there is great learning happening in classrooms and so many wonderful experiences occurring for students at school. Thank you for your continued support with your child’s learning and development. Thank you also for monitoring your child’s health and symptoms in relation to COVID. Large numbers of cases are being reported in ACT daily so it is important to remain vigilant. Our school is still implementing COVID safe procedures in all aspects of school life. Rosary school does have some members of the community affected by COVID but the impact has been limited so far this term which is pleasing. COVID information continues to be reported to you daily to help you understand our local context and make decisions for the welfare of your child/ren and others.
COVID Update
The information I have at hand is that some restrictions to how school events and activities can be held are easing in the ACT (around assemblies, performances, liturgies, group activities, sport, excursions, camps) but we will have to be very cautious how we manage any changes. Whilst this will open up new opportunities for students, it has been made clear from ACT Government and Catholic Education, that parents and carers are still not permitted to attend events on the school site or enter the school without a prior appointment for an essential meeting or emergency etc. ‘Student Cohorting’ arrangements, mask wearing and other hygiene/safety measures for staff and visitors are expected to remain in place for schools to start next term.
I will communicate these changes to you when I have more information on how we will implement them.
Week 10 - Rosary Parent Teacher Learning Conversations Online
I hope you are able to book a time to meet with your child’s teacher online for our Parent Teacher Learning Conversations which will take place next week, on Monday 4 April and Tuesday 5 April. Due to the current ACT Government COVID Plan, all meetings must be conducted online (TEAMS in Catholic schools).
You would have been sent an invitation this week for you to select a suitable time for your learning conversation for your child or children. This will be an terrific opportunity to discuss their progress in Term One and also what we can plan next for their learning and development. Online bookings close on Friday 1 April at 3.00pm so please make your booking via the Compass Parent Portal asap to select a time.
We value the partnership with you in your child’s education.
