Principals Report Week 1 Term 2
Dear Parents and Carers
Welcome back for Term 2. I hope that you and your families are well and have had a nice Easter and school holiday break.
May we all be blessed by the glory of the Risen Lord, awakened to experience the resurrection anew with open wonder and an increasing ability to see you in the people of Easter.
A Resurrection Prayer
Lord, we lift our hearts to you. As the dawn breaks, may we carry the unity we share into every moment knowing that we are one with the risen Christ.
Lord, we lift our eyes to you. As the sun rises, may this moment stay with us, reminding us to look for the beautiful colours of promise in your word.
Lord, we lift our prayers to you. As the dew air falls, may we breathe this morning and know that like the earth, you sustain us, keep us and work within us always.
And so, we lift our voices to you. We celebrate the greatest day in history, when Jesus rose from death, defeated darkness and bathed the world in stunning resurrection light. May we ever live to praise you! Amen.

Welcome New Staff
I would like to offer a very warm welcome to 3 new staff starting contracts at Rosary this term:
Paul Mogan begins in our school janitor/maintenance role this week. Paul has experience working with his own cleaning/maintenance business and it is great he has joined our staff in this important role. As a way of association, Paul is Nicole’s (Year 5 Washington) husband. I have attached Paul’s photo as you may see or meet Paul around the school grounds and I wanted you to be able to identify him.
Clare Henman will work Mondays and Tuesdays in a classroom support role. Clare did some casual work with us in Term 1. Clare is in Level 2 at the Australian Catholic University studying primary teaching.
Nicole Arndt will work Thursday and Friday in a classroom support role. You may know Nicole, she is Alexandria’s (Year 5) mother. Nicole is currently completing her masters in primary/childhood early childhood teaching at the Australian Catholic University.
In addition, Jacqui Ramesh will continue teaching Indonesian on Tuesday and Thursdays.
COVID Restrictions Update
Correspondence was shared via COMPASS about some of the changes to COVID restrictions to start Term 2. This is generally positive news for students and staff, although we are conscious that we need to plan and monitor our interaction and activities carefully. The health and wellbeing of members of our community remains a priority.
From this term students and staff will again engage in liturgies, morning assemblies, class assemblies, sporting events and carnivals, incursions, excursions, sacramental celebrations and camps (scheduled for Term 3 and Term 4). Students will be excited that they can begin cross-cohort activities and enrichment activities in controlled settings with limited group numbers. Unfortunately, parents and carers are still unable to attend events on school grounds, during school hours. However, fundraising events may be planned by the Community Council as we move forward and some volunteers may be able to start assisting in approved events. This can be discussed at the next Community Council meeting.
Thanks again for your support. Please remember to notify the school if your child tests positive to COVID or is a close contact. This information is confidential and still used in a de-identified form to report to Catholic Education to assist in managing the school.
