Principals Report Week 6 Term 3
Dear Parents and Carers
We have passed the mid-way mark of Term 3. I hope that you and your families are travelling ok and remaining relatively well as we navigate the last period of winter. At schools we continue to enjoy face-to-face teaching and any school events that we can participate in.
2023 Class Structure
In 2022 Rosary has two straight classes in each year level, with a total of 14 classes. I am pleased to announce that Catholic Education has just approved an additional class for 2023. This new class will take us to 15 classes. The additional class will be allocated to Year 2 in 2023. Our Year 1 classes this year have grown steadily with new enrolments during the year as well as some prospective students currently placed on a waiting list. It is great news that this cohort will be split into 3 straight Year 2 classes with fewer students, starting next year with expected numbers of approximately 21 students.
Acting Religious Education Coordinator
Following up from last week’s newsletter, Mrs Ann-Maree Hinds is the Acting religious Education Coordinator for weeks 6, 7 and 8 this term while we shuffle the executive roles while Mr O’Brien is away. Congratulations to Mrs Hinds and I am sure she will do a good job in this role.
Kinder Paris Assembly
Congratulations to Mrs Watson and Kindergarten Paris students on a lovely assembly on Monday this week. The students presented information and stories on the work they have been covering in class and about some of the excursions and incursions they have been able to attend. They are having a wonderful year! Their Year 6 buddies from 6 Athens also joined in the assembly and showcased Book Week as well as some of their buddy activities. Well done Kinder Paris.
Book Week Excitement!
As mentioned above Year 6 Athens students presented part of Monday’s assembly about Book Week. They made up ‘rap’ songs, played live music from their band and shared information about some of the short-listed books for 2022. Well done Year 6 Athens.
It was also great to see so many staff and students dress up as their favourite book characters on Monday! There was a theatre-like atmosphere around the school as the characters intermingled and students explained who their character was and from which book!
Thank you again to Mrs Sandy Vincent and Mrs Jodie Dawson who run an amazing library week in week out, not just during Book Week. The library is always an oasis for students to enjoy!
Book Fair
Thank you to families and students supporting our 2022 Book Fair this week. Many students have been able to purchase a new book or two to read at home and continue their love of reading!
Some of our Upcoming Events Include:
- Year 1 Hague Assembly - Monday 29 August
- Community Council Meeting - Wednesday 31 August
- Year 2 Mass - Thursday 1 September

- COMMUNITY: Meet people and reconnect outside of Sunday services.

Respect Pride and Safety (Rosary Primary School)
Respect Pride and Safety (Rosary Primary School)
Introducing, modelling, and reinforcing positive social behaviours is an important step of a student’s educational experience.
Each term we focus on teaching positive behaviour at Rosary. This term we are asking students to remember that we are a ‘Hands Off’ school. Our school rules always fall under the banner of Respect Pride and Safety (RPS).
Teachers will be reminding students that games and interactions must be ‘Hands Off’. Our aim is to promote harmony and safety within our school community. Students are also provided with language they can use if someone uses “Hands On’.
‘STOP IT. I DON’T LIKE IT.’
Students are encouraged to go to a teacher and ask for help if someone is using ‘Hands On’.
Signage can be seen in classrooms and corridors to reinforce this positive message.
Hands Off Please!
It’s the Rosary Way………
