Principals Report Week 7 Term 2
Dear Parents and Carers
Well it’s good to be back at school after a personal health scare at the end of April. I’m feeling much better now and looking forward to seeing students, staff and parents again. I’ve missed the community, the engagement and the fun at school.
I would like to offer a huge thanks to the school executive team of John O’Brien, Liz Higgins, Julie Godfrey and Ann-Maree Hinds for all of their hard work over recent weeks to keep things running smoothly at Rosary. Schools are always busy places and I know how well everyone supports each other. I look forward to catching up on what I have missed and joining in on activities planned for the last part of Term 2. I will hopefully be back at school later this week.
First Eucharist Celebration
I was fortunate to be able to attend mass at Blackfriars Church on Saturday evening and witness one of our groups of students receive their First Eucharist. This was a very special moment in the faith life of these students. Receiving communion and Jesus for the first time in this form is such a personal experience they will remember for a long time, as will their families. Thank you to Fr Mannes for celebrating the sacramental mass and to Anne-Maree Hinds, Liz Higgins, Emma Hilsdon, Diandra Abarquez for preparing the students and the celebration. Thank you to the parish and the choir for their beautiful contribution.
School Photos this Friday
This important day each year is this Friday 9 June. Please ensure that your child is in the correct winter uniform and on time for school as photos will be held in the morning session of school. Thank you.
2024 Kindergarten Enrolment Still Welcome
We have had a pretty good response to Kindergarten enrolments in the official period in May, but please keep promoting the school to prospective parents and their families, as late enrolments can be accepted to ensure a good number of classes for 2024. Enrolments in other year levels are also welcome and will be considered for 2024.
Enrolment interviews for families of students starting in 2024 will begin this week. This is always an exciting time as we progress the conversation and meet the young children as they begin the journey of preparing for ‘big’ school!
Thank you to everyone for promoting Rosary School during the recent enrolment period and making new people and families very welcome to our community. I look forward to sharing information and stories about our school and what we offer all students and their families.
For more details about enrolling at Rosary, please contact the school office.
I would like to wish you well for the long weekend coming up and hope you can spend some extra time with your friends and family.
God Bless
Greg Walker
Principal

Whole Day Absences via Parent Portal
Whole Day Absences
If your child is absent from school for a whole day or longer, please submit details of the absence via the Parent Portal. This should be completed within 7 days of the absence. There is no need to adjust times for whole day absences.
If your child will only be absent for a partial day, the absence will be recorded as your child is signed in or out via the kiosk at the front office. You do not need to add an early pick up or late drop off via the Parent Portal.
Unexplained absences for your child will be displayed on your homepage when you log in to Parent Portal.
If an unexplained absence appears that you believe to be incorrect, please send an email to the front office for investigation.
The school counsellor, is available every Thursday and Friday.
You can refer your child for counselling by contacting the school or filling in a referral form available on Catholic Care’s website or follow this link: https://catholiccare.force.com/housing/s/school-referral-form
After you have filled out the referral form you will automatically be sent an email requesting your consent for your child to access the service. In the case of families where parents are separated, consent of both parents is normally required. If this is difficult for you please feel free to discuss this with the counsellor.
Access to the clothing pool will now be as follows:
Monday - All Day (school hours)
Tuesday - Friday - Before and after school only
Thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers who maintain the space for our community.
Please note: All donations of preloved uniforms (in good wearable condition) are welcome at the front office.
