Dear Parents and Friends,
This coming weekend, we will celebrate the Sacrament of First Eucharist and we pray for the children receiving Jesus for the first time and for their families who have supported them along the way. Thank you to the whole community for keeping the children in your prayers over the past few weeks. The children will participate in a Retreat Day tomorrow, making final preparations to receive Jesus in this Sacrament. Thank you to Mrs Higgins, Mrs Toole, Mrs Nisbet, Mrs Fryar, Mrs Hinds and Nicole (from the Parish School of Religion) for teaching and preparing the students – those receiving the Sacrament and those who have been supporting their classmates on this journey. Thank you also to the teachers and students from all other classes who have been praying for the students and who have prepared special gifts for them. We look forward to wonderful celebrations over the weekend. Everyone is most welcome to come along to the Masses: 5pm on Saturday night and 10am on Sunday morning in Rosary Church.
Enrolment Interviews
Over the past few weeks, I have been conducting enrolment interviews for Kindergarten next year. It is a privilege to meet new families and to get to know the incoming students prior to them arriving at the start of the 2020 school year. The children have all been delightful and extremely keen to show me what they can write and draw. They are all very excited about starting school and several are looking forward to being at school with older siblings. Again, parents have commented on the positive reputation of the school in the wider community and have acknowledged the welcoming and friendly feel of the place, the well-resourced and tidy spaces and the cheerful, friendly and polite students. These are wonderful affirmations of which we can all be proud.
Semester One Reports
Student reports will be available for parents to collect from 2:30pm Wednesday 26 June. Only the parent to whom the report is addressed will be able to collect the Semester Report from the Front Office unless a delegate has written authorisation from the parent to collect on their behalf. Any reports not personally collected by 3:30pm Thursday 27 June will be sent in the mail. Parent/Teacher Learning Conversations are optional following the final report. Parents may make an appointment to see a teacher by contacting the front office.
I extend my thanks to the teachers for the time and effort they put into preparing the reports. The teachers work very hard to ensure that the reports are an accurate reflection of each child’s progress and achievement.
Carpark
A reminder that the curb closest to the metal gates leading into the quad is a no parking area. In the morning parents are able to drop their children and go. In the afternoon this area is kept clear to ensure the visibility of students as they leave the quad. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
