Principals Report Week 10 Term 4
Dear Parents and Carers
Merry Christmas! Thank you for your partnership and support in 2023.
As the season of Advent draws to an end and we prepare for Christmas, may we be grateful for all of the blessings bestowed upon us this year, for our time together and that God is with us!
We are now invited by our Lord to enter into the glorious celebration of His birth!
Christmas Prayer
Most Holy Savior of the World, You are the Light that scattered the darkness.
You chose to be born in the most humble conditions, elevating humility as a means of great holiness.
As we celebrate Your birth, I pray that You will also be born in my life, and through me, into the world.
May this Christmas be a time in which I come to know You more fully and intimately, joining the shepherds in their adoration of You, so that I can share in the abundant new life You came to bestow.
Holy Saviour, have mercy on me. Jesus, I trust in You.
Amen
Prayers Please
Please keep Mrs Janet Hanratty and her family in your prayers and thoughts. Janet’s father Malcom passed away recently, aged 91 years. He was much loved by his family and will be dearly missed. May he now rest in peace.
Congratulations to our Year 6 Class of 2023 who graduate this week.

End of Year Thanksgiving Mass - 10.00am Tuesday 12 December
This week Fr Renoir celebrated a beautiful thanksgiving mass with the whole school on Tuesday in Blackfriars Parish Church. We gave thanks for the 2023 school year and all of our achievements. Fr Renior reminded us of the JOY and LOVE that Christmas offers us all. He also asked us to look outwardly and keep those people in need in our prayers and to reach out to support others at this solemn time.

2023 Parent WhatsApp groups at Rosary
This is a reminder that the parent WhatsApp groups at Rosary operate on an annual basis. The 2023 parent WhatsApp groups will be closed in Week 2, Term 1, 2024.
The parent WhatsApp groups at Rosary have been a great success since their introduction in 2020, allowing parents to communicate with other parents in their year-level.
Each year-level WhatsApp group operates on an annual basis, with a new year-level WhatsApp group established at the start of each school year. The groups operate on an annual basis to ensure that only current parents are members of the WhatsApp group and to ensure consistency of WhatsApp group operation across year-levels. Current year Class Contacts are the administrators for the WhatsApp groups.
In the first week of the new school year, all parents will receive an email, via Compass, specific to their year-level, containing the following information:
- A link to the current year WhatsApp group for the relevant year-level
- The names of their current year Class Contacts
- Details of the ‘event’ their year level is responsible for
- The date that the prior year WhatsApp group will be closed (allowing sufficient time for parents to join the new group).
Should you have any queries regarding the process, please contact the Rosary Community Council rosarycouncil@gmail.com.

Whole Day Absences
If your child is absent from school for a whole day or longer, please submit details of the absence via the Parent Portal. This should be completed within 7 days of the absence. There is no need to adjust times for whole day absences.
If your child will only be absent for a partial day, the absence will be recorded as your child is signed in or out via the kiosk at the front office. You do not need to add an early pick up or late drop off via the Parent Portal.
Unexplained absences for your child will be displayed on your homepage when you log in to Parent Portal.
If an unexplained absence appears that you believe to be incorrect, please send an email to the front office for investigation.
The school counsellor, is available every Thursday and Friday.
You can refer your child for counselling by contacting the school by phone or email.
You will be asked for your consent for your child to access the service. In the case of families where parents are separated, consent of both parents is normally required. If this is difficult for you please feel free to discuss this with the counsellor.
Access to the clothing pool will now be as follows:
Monday - All Day (school hours)
Tuesday - Friday - Before and after school only
Thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers who maintain the space for our community.
