Principals Report Week 5 Term 3
Dear Parents and Friends,
The Book Fair has been held in the library this week for parents and students to purchase some special items. Proceeds go towards earning dollars for the school to purchase resources for the library. The support of our school families is greatly appreciated. Special thanks to Mrs Vincent and Mrs Dawson for bringing Book Week alive and promoting this year’s theme: “Reading is My Secret Power”.
Tomorrow we will be holding the Book Week Dress-up Day and we’re looking forward to seeing the costumes that students have come up with.
Family Mass
Everyone is warmly invited to come along to the Rosary Family Mass this Sunday at 10am. The Parish puts on a sausage sizzle and offers some sweet treats as well following the Mass. It is a lovely opportunity to gather with others from our Rosary school and parish community. I extend sincere thanks to the Parish Council for their generosity in catering for us.
Daffodil Day
This Year we are supporting the Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day Appeal. We will be holding a fundraising day next Monday (26/8). Students are asked to wear an item of yellow clothing and bring in a gold coin donation. Information on how fundraising money is used can be found at https://www.daffodilday.com.au.
Rosary Rocks
Our school concert, ‘Rosary Rocks’, will be held next Thursday (29/8) in the Daramalan College hall. There will be two performances: A matinee at 12pm and an evening performance at 6pm. We are asking for a gold coin donation to help cover the costs associated with putting on this event. The students have been working hard to prepare their items and are looking forward to seeing you there.
REPEAT NOTICE:
Major Fundraiser for the School
This year, Rosary is hosting the Catholic Schools Netball Carnival on Saturday 19th October. This is a once in a 20 year opportunity for our school to raise significant funds as the responsibility for hosting this carnival is shared around our Catholic schools. Please be aware that this is not a fundraiser for netball – it is a fundraiser for the school and the carnival is the medium through which the funds are raised. This is a huge event on the calendar for the Catholic schools in our system and requires a great deal of support from staff and parents to make it a success. It can be thought of in terms of a sports carnival and a fete all in one! Various committees have been formed and contact persons for each committee have been established. The committees are: Catering, Draw and Teams, Sponsorship and Vendor Management. If you would like to assist on a particular committee please let us know. If you would like to help but are not sure how, please let us know as there are plenty of jobs to cover. If you have particular skills or own a business, or know someone else who does, and would like to contribute, please let us know. There are sponsorship and donation opportunities in return for advertising. Of course, we will need as many helpers as possible on the day for food service and to run stalls and assist with the carnival in a number of other ways. Please keep the date free for our school! If you would like to make contact regarding the Carnival, there is a designated email address to use. The email address is CSNC2019@cg.catholic.edu.au

Rosary Community Family Mass
All Rosary families are invited to attend the family Mass this weekend.
When: Sunday 25 August at 10am
Where: Holy Rosary Church
Who: All welcome!
Come along and be part of your parish community!
It is also a fantastic opportunity for those students in Year 6 who are preparing to receive the sacrament of Confirmation to connect with their parish.
The parish provide a free sausage sizzle after Mass especially for us. This is always popular with the children and provides a great opportunity for families to have a chat.
Peace and best wishes

Fathers Day Stall - Donations Needed!
Fathers’ Day Stall
Week 6, Term 3 - Friday 30th August 2019
The Fathers’ Day Stall will be held on Friday 30th August 2019.
This is a whole school event that the children look forward to every year and is a small fundraising effort for the school.
We are now just one week away, and still require more donations of small gifts.
Some suggestions are:
Coffee cups, chocolates, biscuits, gourmet snacks (please ensure they are nut free), men’s toiletries, socks, car washing items and notebooks.
A bag will be placed in your child’s class room for your child to deposit the gifts. The items will then be collected and beautifully gift wrapped by Year 4 parents ready for sale.
Thank you in advance for your contribution,
Rosary Community Council
Sponsorship Opportunity – Catholic Schools Netball Carnival
SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY – CATHOLIC SCHOOLS NETBALL CARNIVAL
On Saturday 19 October 2019, Rosary Primary School will host the annual 2019 Catholic Schools Netball Carnival.
Each year the event attracts over 5000 people from approximately 30 schools throughout the region.
We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to run the event this year, as it is a fantastic fundraising event for our school. Any profit generated by this carnival will be returned to the school to improve school facilities and enhance the educational experience of each of our students.
If you are a business owner, or work for a company that may consider supporting this event, please download the sponsorship packages form.
Netball Carnival Request - A4 Copy Paper Boxes Needed!
WE NEED BOXES! LOTS OF BOXES!
Our Catering Committee will need approximately 150 A4 copy paper boxes (eg. Reflex paper boxes or the like) to prepare team lunches for the Netball Carnival in October.
It would be a great help if anyone with access to these boxes (with lids), either at home or in their workspace, can bring them in to the school so that we can set them aside in preparation for the carnival. Please bring as many as you can - we will be continuing to collect all term!
