Dear Parents and Friends,
Yesterday Year 5 premiered their 2020 Wakakirri Screen Challenge Performance to a very excited Rosary audience. This year due to Covid 19 restrictions the live shows were cancelled and replaced with a Screen Challenge. This meant that students were required to create and film their story instead of performing their piece live on stage. Students performed their part of the story individually and then had all of the pieces woven together into a short video complete with soundtrack and special effects. Filming took place on the grounds of the school and the ACU Campus. The amazing costumes and animated characters brought the story to life in a very magical way. The Year 5 students adapted well to the new format and have produced a stunning video called the Last Spinning Wheel based on the story of Sleeping Beauty. The bio and link to the video are below for your viewing pleasure.
The Last Spinning Wheel
Cursed at birth and raised by fairies in the forest. Princess Aurora’s fate lies with finding true love, a spinning wheel and defeating a dragon.

Huge thanks must also go to the teachers; Miss Rich, Mrs Fryar and Mrs Godfrey for the enormous amount of effort they put into making Wakakirri such a wonderful and memorable experience for the students.
Big thanks also to the parents who helped with props, costumes and animations. Your contributions are always appreciated.
